Meeting Karl Malone!

The Saturday before Nick is to come home, he was able to go back to The Malones + meet THE Karl Malone! Nick had been to their home before + was able to hang out with Kay, Karl's wife. Karl was out hunting so Nick missed him, but not this time!  Nick says he is so nice + is so BIG!! Now he can say his mission is complete :). He comes home tomorrow!! We are all so excited + won't be getting much sleep tonight!

Chicken killin' with The Blakes!

Elder Mower + Elder Bradshaw were invited by The Blakes to kill their own chicken, skin it, clean it, + eat it!  Definitely something new for Nick!!!  He says he loves The Blakes.

Mardi Gras!

44 days until Nick comes home + we could not be more excited!! Last week, the missionaries celebrated Mardi Gras... Mormon style with The Loves. Looks like they had a blast!

Ruby Award

Elder Bradshaw earned the "Ruby Award" for a really clean and organized apartment.  Elder Bradshaw and Elder Mower really get along well.  They are happy, healthy, and doing a great work.

Duck Commander!

Elder Bradshaw was able to stop by the Duck Commander in Monroe, LA. For everyone who doesn't know, the Robertsons are huge hits right now. They have a show called "Duck Dynasty". They own Duck Commander where they make duck calls + other fun stuff!!

Award!

Elder Bradshaw received the "Golden Mop Star Award" for having an exceptionally clean apartment.  He's happy and doing great!

The Malones!

Karl Malone & his wife, Kay, live in the same area as Nick does!  They are so wonderful to the missionaries & have them over quite a bit. They aren't members of the Church, but they are the perfect example of kindness & love. Kay even called & talked with my mom while Nick was at their home! My mom was completely star struck. Karl was gone hunting, but they were able to see their home & visit a bit with his beautiful wife. Here are some pictures from his wonderful visit!

Wedding!

The missionaries were able to attend a wedding of some investigators!  Congratulations Kedwin & Cherry!  Nick says they are fixin to get baptized soon and are making the steps to baptism.  They are the Oak Grove Elders investigators. Congrats again!

All the missionaries in MJM are doing GREAT work!  Elder Bradshaw is loving being a district leader & says he is crazy busy.  They had another wonderful baptism last weekend.  Congratulations to Denise!  So happy for you :).

Nick is now a District Leader & is training his new companion, Elder Whitney (upper left corner).  They did a Book of Mormon play for the seminary students.  :) What a fun group!

Thurl Bailey!

"Well ya'll, Thurl Bailey came yesterday and gave a great talk! It was a fireside where we could invite our investigators and can I just say, WOW... He has such a strong testimony of the gospel. It is incredible. He is a very strong man. Super tall!!!  He said he really appreciates what we missionaries do. Such a great experience being able to hear from him."
